Nestled on 60 picturesque acres, Hilltop Hanover is a working farm and educational hub dedicated to sustainability, biodiversity and connecting people with nature. The farm focuses on food production, sustainable agriculture, environmental and native plant restoration, accessible food systems and immersive educational programs.

Nothing goes to waste at Hilltop Hanover. Their farm stand is open Thursday through Sunday, May to Thanksgiving, and their unique market-style CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) allows members to purchase the produce they want via farm stand credits, which are acquired when they buy into the CSA towards the end of winter. Plus, Hilltop Hanover donates 25 percent of their fresh, organic produce to local food access partners.

Hilltop Hanover also offers community farm workdays and jam sessions in their historic farmhouse, K-12 school trips and farm-to-table cooking programs.

What We Love

We’re a little obsessed with their beautifully stunning and friendly Dutch Belted (or Lakenvelder) cows who graze the north pastures and often greet us when we arrive. The mom is Cocoa, and her daughters are Clover and Cricket. (We’re not sure which one is giving us side-eye in this photo, but she’s making us laugh!)

Gia Miller is an award-winning journalist and the editor-in-chief/co-publisher of Connect to Northern Westchester. She has a magazine journalism degree (yes, that's a real thing) from the University of Georgia and has written for countless national publications, ranging from SELF to The Washington Post. Gia desperately wishes schools still taught grammar. Also, she wants everyone to know they can delete the word "that" from about 90% of their sentences, and there's no such thing as "first annual." When she's not running her media empire, Gia enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, laughing at her crazy dog and listening to a good podcast. She thanks multiple alarms, fermented grapes and her amazing husband for helping her get through each day. Her love languages are food and humor.
