Perhaps no other local business prioritizes their customers as much as a local pharmacy, and Weinstein’s Pharmacy stands out among the rest. Although the business has changed hands over its 144-year history, customer service has always been a priority. With Haris Ahmad at the helm the past three years, he, along with his father and three siblings, have kept the tradition alive. They know their regulars by name and go out of their way to make sure they understand each customer’s individual needs, offering tailored support and advice for both prescriptions and over-the-counter remedies.

But Weinstein’s isn’t only there for your healthcare needs; their store is filled with personal and gift items, ranging from a carefully curated selection of hair and beauty products to specialty items and toys, along with a great selection of Katonah-branded merchandise. Some of the brands they carry have been regulars at Weinstein’s almost since its inception, and they also import lines from around the world, offering customers a little piece of home. The Ahmads say they feel blessed to have met “generations upon generations of customers who have supported the business from its very inception until now.”

Insider Tip

Yes, Weinstein’s Pharmacy carries Clarins Paris skincare and Jellycat plush toys, but they often don’t last long. While they do their best to keep everyone’s favorite items in stock, those in the know stop by regularly to purchase their favorites as soon as they arrive. Yes, really. We’ve seen this phenomenon for ourselves.

Gia Miller is an award-winning journalist and the editor-in-chief/co-publisher of Connect to Northern Westchester. She has a magazine journalism degree (yes, that's a real thing) from the University of Georgia and has written for countless national publications, ranging from SELF to The Washington Post. Gia desperately wishes schools still taught grammar. Also, she wants everyone to know they can delete the word "that" from about 90% of their sentences, and there's no such thing as "first annual." When she's not running her media empire, Gia enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, laughing at her crazy dog and listening to a good podcast. She thanks multiple alarms, fermented grapes and her amazing husband for helping her get through each day. Her love languages are food and humor.
