1. Films, popcorn and community—25 years and counting!

Cheers to the Jacob Burns Film Center for 25 incredible years of film, art & community. Help them celebrate at their 25th anniversary gala on Friday, June 12. Or attend their anniversary series, showcasing films screened when the theater opened in 2001 (matching ticket pricing as well), including “The Vertical Ray of the Sun,” “Ghost World” and “Waking Life.” Don’t miss The Greatest Showman Family Day on June 28, includes a festive sing-along screening of the movie followed by an all-out party with jugglers, face painting, balloon twisting and plenty of family fun.

2. Northwell is bringing something new to town

Big things are happening at Northwell Health: their brand new practice, Northwell Health Physician Partners Primary and Specialty Care at Chappaqua Crossing, is now open. This 8,500-square-foot facility is designed to make healthcare feel a whole lot easier, with comprehensive services including family medicine, gastroenterology and pulmonology, all under one roof. Inside you’ll find 16 modern exam rooms, state-of-the-art diagnostics and even on-site x-ray services. Consider this your reason to book that overdue appointment, which you can now do via their website at northwell.edu/chappaquacare.

3.Vibe and dive into queer culture during Pride month

Pride month is full of ways to celebrate. Start by heading to the annual Lewisboro Pride event (in partnership with the Bedford, Mt Kisco and Pound Ridge) on May 30, 2-5 p.m. at Lewisboro Town Park. We love Drag Queen Story Hour & the Pet Pride Parade. Plus there are food trucks, a DJ dance party, a kids’ zone, etc; all are welcome. Follow with Jacob Burns’ monthly Out There series spotlighting queer cinema and an annual Pride Parking Lot Party on June 25, starting at 5 p.m. And at Caramoor, Isaac Mizrahi and his jazz band take the stage at the Venetian Theater on June 26, 7:30 p.m. for a Pride performance.

4.Because you need a little more drama in your life

Don’t miss out on amazing performances, including Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley’s “Outside Mullingar” (a romance set on a small farm in rural Ireland) at the Schoolhouse Theater May 15-31. On June 19-21 & June 25-28, Bedford’s Rev Up 250 will transform the Bedford Historical Hall into the setting where our founders debated/declared independence via a production of the Tony Award-winning musical “1776.” Or, if you prefer music, Caramoor will host its annual American Roots Music Festival on June 27.

5. Hope on the Hudson

Put on your favorite sundress (or khakis) for an evening celebrating the amazing Westchester Land Trust (they preserve our local land and protect/enhance our natural resources). This year’s event will take place at The Center at Mariandale on June 6 at 6 p.m. Help us celebrate the evening’s honorees: our friend Allison Turcan, along with the Dominican Sisters of Hope & Doug Mancinelli. And a special shout-out to gala co-chairs Jessica Watts & Jenn Wege for helping create an evening of celebration and dancing beneath a starlit tent overlooking the Hudson River.
