If postwar and contemporary Italian art is your thing, or if it hasn’t become your thing yet, take a short drive up to Magazzino Italian Art, a nonprofit museum and research center in Cold Spring. Meaning “warehouse” in Italian, Magazzino was co-founded by Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu in 2017, who were inspired to share their lifelong passion for Italian art with their community. We feature a significant collection of art focused on the Arte Povera movement, showcasing works by renowned artists such as Jannis Kounellis and Michelangelo Pistoletto. Plus, our various programs and events engage the community and emphasize our commitment to cultural enrichment and artistic exploration. Magazzino’s serene setting and thoughtfully designed spaces will enhance your experience, helping you see why we’re a vital part of the Hudson Valley’s cultural landscape.
