A song by Trevor Mason
Founders’ note: Not everyone is born with the ability to use their voice. Not everyone can easily communicate their thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams. We swim in an ocean of magical light
We float on a sea of sound
All life emits a harmony of music
A wave of color is all-around.
Bringers of heat and light
I feel each warm ray of sunshine
Feelings of love, compassion and joy
In rainbows, warmth and water combine
We live in an ocean of energy
Tune into those waves in the air
Listen and feel those infinite ripples
If you try, you’ll become aware.
I tune into colors and revel in riches
The warmth of red, the power of blue.
I hear the earth’s music, the hum of all life
The music that connects us all, me and you.
We live in an ocean of energy
Tune into those waves in the air
Listen and feel those infinite ripples
Feel them—they are there.
I tune into the love that surrounds me
Waves of it bathe me in its glorious glow
I tune into compassion, loyalty, faith
I wade in the softness, the effervescent flow
We live in an ocean of energy
Tune into those waves in the air
Listen and feel those infinite ripples
They surround us everywhere
About Waves
Waves reflects the feelings you have when you are aware. That’s what the song means to me. I think that many neurotypicals really miss out on the beauty of the world because they are distracted by so much. I conceptualized this as a song from the beginning. I am totally a song writer more than a poet. I hear my song lyrics as a song in my head before Tom [Tyler’s stepfather] gets it. Then he gets to work on it so it sounds like I imagine it. I had many song lyrics in my head before I started spelling, but I had no way to write them down. I am hoping to be a songwriter. I’m not sure if I can make a living doing it, but I want to try.
