That’s a wrap! The upcoming Netflix movie, “Leave the World Behind”, finished filming in Goldens Bridge on Monday, May 23.
On May 19, 20 and 23, the crew set up shop at a house on Todd Road, according to a police officer working on the set who asked to remain anonymous. Trailers and equipment could also be seen at the Goldens Bridge train station.
Filming for the movie began in April on Long Island. The next local filming locations include Pleasantville and the FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, the police officer explained.
The film is a drama starring Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, Ethan Hawke and Mahershala Ali. Based on the novel of the same title by Rumaan Alam, it follows two couples who face tensions as “strange events” occur outside.
Director/writer/producer Sam Esmail worked with Roberts before as the executive producer of the TV series “Gaslit.” He’s also worked on several other TV shows and movies, including the show “Mr. Robot,”which he created, and the 2016 documentary “Risk” where he served as the executive producer.
The film does not yet have a release date, but if you happen to be Pleasantville or Yorktown over the next few days, let us know if you see them filming.
