Turn it up, because our September October issue is all about music. Whether it’s a peak into the “Jazz On Main” Mount Kisco nightclub, an in-depth look at singer Andromeda Turre, or a very cool interview with Blues Traveler, there’s plenty of harmony to go around. We also dig into some of the great music festivals and live events that are going on this season in and around Westchester. We have tons of other fun, musical interviews with local singers and bands from students to guitar slinging pros. We hope this issue hits all the right notes with you.

Our Covers

This issue’s front cover features the incomparable Julie Rosenberg and one of her incredibly colorful guitars. Rosenberg uses guitar bodies as her canvas, building the actual body and then adding paint to the final product. This image is further complimented by design inclusions by our creative director, Justin Negard.

Our back cover features the fantastic Thomas Doyle, a local artist from Katonah who specializes in miniature artwork with multilayered themes and symbols

Julie Rosenberg’s Studio

Our cover art for this issue features the stunning work of Julie Rosenberg. Within the magazine, we also have a wonderful interview with Rosenberg where we discuss her art, technique and life story. Take a tour of her studio in Goldens Bridge and see “where the magic happens.”

Blues Traveler and the Tour Bus

We jumped on Zoom with Chan Kinchla to discuss the latest Blues Traveler album, their headlining of Harvest Fest in Pound Ridge and to take a peak in the tour bus. Welcome to Pound Town, Chan!

Andromeda Turre

Andromeda is a true force in our community. Whether it’s her music, hosting with Sirius XM, teaching with Growing Up Jazz, or the many festivals and events that she is a part of, Andromeda is firing on all cylinders. Take a look at our day out with Andromeda, visiting her home studio and our photoshoot at Caramoor.

Jazz On Main & Shaul Dover

We are enchanted by the stylish new club in Mount Kisco. Shaul Dover has not just made a cool club for our community, he’s made a cool club PERIOD. Featuring live jazz, delicious food and fantastic cocktails, Jazz On Main is the newest, most exciting hotspot our neighborhood has seen in quite some time.

A Weekend in Jefferson

If you haven’t been to Jefferson (and you probably haven’t), it might be time to go. The true definition of a hidden gem, this rustic hamlet is home to the truly spectacular Mill Pond Inn & Tavern. This restored mill is the perfect launch point for the country fun that awaits you in this charming community.

“Think of Me” by Madison Lagares

Rising star and current Fox Lane High School student, Madison Lagares is living one exciting life. From Broadway to television and film, Lagares knows how to stay busy. Enjoy her rendition of Phantom of the Opera. It’s enough to make Andrew Lloyd Webber reconsider casting!

North Star in Pound Ridge

The calm and cool vibe of North Star makes this delicious restaurant a local favorite. It’s easy to see why. We sat down with the team, shared some stories and dined on the mouthwatering North Star Halibut. Check out the video and download the recipe here.

Hey Harvest Fest, Blues Traveler Would Like Some Pita Chips, Please

When The Pound Ridge Partnership asked us if we’d like to interview Blues Traveler guitarist Chandler Kinchla (who goes by Chan), we said yes, of course. But what can you ask a band who has no secrets? In true Katonah Connect style, we created a dozen unconventional questions, and Chan happily played along. Forty minutes later, we’d covered everything from ...
