Herb Your Enthusiasm

Rosemary? Put it in focaccia. Mint? Try it in a hand soap. The herb possibilities are endless, and the 74th Annual Herb Fair & Market will show you exactly what that means. Head to Caramoor on September 20 (rain date: September 21) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to stroll the gardens, shop herb-infused goodies & handmade wares and catch a workshop or two. Plus, don’t miss the delicious lovage soup with focaccia from LMNOP Bakery. With book signings, botanical wellness and local makers, it’s a perfect day to slow down and soak up some garden magic. Admission is free.

Call in the Cavalry

If you’re a history nerd—or know someone who can’t stop talking about it—this is your chance to make their day. History will come alive at REV FEST 250 on September 27–28 at Croton Point Park. This immersive weekend festival celebrates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution with live reenactments, costumed characters, 18th-century crafts, music, and more. From cavalry drills to a Hamilton sing-along, it’s a one-of-a-kind way to be part of the past while living in the present, right here in Westchester.

Fall is here. Fun is near. And yes, there’s beer.

Did you hear? Harvest Fest, our favorite fall music event is back, and we’re the Presenting VIP Sponsor. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 4, 1–6 p.m. and join us at Pound Ridge’s town park for a day of music, food and community togetherness. With food trucks, craft brews, hand-selected wines and music from John Praino, The Soul Rebels and The Record Company, it’ll be an afternoon full of all the best things. And don’t forget the kids’ tent, filled with face painting, games, contests and more.

Let’s talk about IPV

October is domestic violence awareness month, and Hope’s Door is having the conversations that aren’t always easy to have. Head to the Bedford Playhouse on October 23 for a panel discussion, moderated by our editor-in-chief, exploring intimate partner violence (IPV) through the lens of the tragic case of 22-year-old Gabby Petito. Panelists will include youth educators and a journalist who reported on her 2021 case. The conversation will examine the complexities, discuss the warning signs, and explore the lasting impacts of IPV.

A novel idea

Get your iced lattes and tote bags ready for the very first Westchester Book Festival on November 8. This daylong celebration brings together award-winning authors, passionate readers and publishing pros for panels, gallery talks, signings and all kinds of bookish fun. Head to the Katonah Village Library for engaging keynotes, explore downtown galleries for hands-on sessions, and enjoy a more intimate experience with casual meet-and-greets at the Katonah Reading Room. And the best part? Every ticket sold supports the Bedford, Bedford Hills and Katonah libraries.
