Westchester Parks Foundation invests in, advocates for, and enhances the over 50 parks of the Westchester County Parks system. Our Foundation creates and manages programs that unite people from all corners of the county to gather together, where they are inspired to care for, learn about, and enjoy our parks. This year, proceeds from Giving Tuesday will benefit Merriwood, our 2-week teen empowerment sleepaway camp program at beautiful Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem. Merriwood provides a life changing summer experience for underserved youth in the Westchester community, at no cost to eligible families. Programs for campers include a weekly service project, leadership development workshops, mentorship opportunities, and professional development. This Giving Tuesday, Westchester Parks Foundation is specifically fundraising to restore two critical cabins at Merriwood, as part of a larger goal of creating a dedicated Merriwood space within camp property. By having a dedicated teen village within camp, Merriwood can reach its full potential, enhancing the experience for underserved youth.
