It’s wintertime, and as your doctor, I’m advising you to increase your Vitamin C intake. According to some studies, it’s a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce the severity of colds and the flu. It’s also vital for producing collagen, which is important for skin repair and maintaining a strong barrier against pathogens.
To make sure you get enough of this essential nutrient, I’ve created a delicious, frozen, snow-like treat that you can enjoy all winter long.

Ingredients
Serves: 4 (or 2 if you require a double dose of Vitamin C)
For the whipped cream:
3 ounces heavy cream
1 Tbsp confectioners’ sugar
For the cocktail base:
4 ounces vodka
3 ounces fresh-squeezed orange juice
(no pulp recommended)
1 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 ounce limoncello
1 ounce orange liqueur
(such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau)
2 large egg whites
Directions
PREPARE THE WHIPPED CREAM.
In a medium bowl, combine the heavy cream and confectioners’ sugar. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the mixture until soft peaks form and it reaches a whipped cream consistency. Set aside.
PREPARE THE COCKTAIL BASE.
In a large cocktail shaker (or a large bowl if you plan to use an immersion blender later), add the vodka, orange juice, lemon juice, limoncello, orange liqueur and egg whites. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for approximately one minute to emulsify the egg whites and aerate the mixture.
ADD THE WHIPPED CREAM.
Carefully open the shaker and gently fold the prepared whipped cream into the cocktail mixture using a spoon or spatula. Close the shaker tightly and shake again for a final 30 seconds to fully incorporate the ingredients.
FREEZE AND SERVE.
Immediately pour the mixture into 2- or 4-ounce glasses. Place the glasses in the freezer for approximately one hour, or until the mixture reaches a semi-frozen, popsicle-like consistency.
ENJOY.
Serve as a palate cleanser, aperitif or after-dinner treat.
Cheers to 2026!
