Why she chose them:
“Great vibe, no ticket fees, easy to find something to eat at the event or neighboring establishments and live music.”
Describe your business in three words.
Fun. Community. Gathering.
If your business had a theme song, what would it be?
“Happy days are here again” by Milton Ager and Jack Yellen.
What’s the funniest customer request you’ve ever received?
Toddler in face paint, running around, dancing to the band, then crashing to lay on the grass with her dog in happy exhaustion.
What’s something your business does differently than anyone else?
We do all the preparation for free so customers (families) can have a safe, fun time together enjoying fun food, music and neighbors.
What’s the one thing your business couldn’t function without?
We couldn’t function without Melissa Kamen and our volunteers. Melissa coordinates the trucks, with all the details and permits involved. She’s a real “foodie” who brings those skills to the community, and she has done so for every Food Truck Friday since its inception.
Who is the unsung hero of your business?
James Best, our dedicated leader, is our unsung hero, with the support of his wife, Ellen. They set up the tent, hang the lights, as well as put up and take down the banners so that everything is set. It’s a huge use of time that they do with smiles.
What is something you wish more people knew about you and/or your business?
I wish people knew how much fun it is to be involved with us as a volunteer. Being part of something like Food Truck Friday, you receive so much pleasure by being part of an organization (like The Partnership who presents Food Truck Fridays for the community).
Held on select Fridays, 5 – 9 pm. Check The Pound Ridge Partnership’s website for info.
Address: Scotts Corners 56 Westchester Ave, Pound Ridge
