What is the first thing you do when you open for the day?

Our trainers turn the lights and music on, walk the floor, and check the schedule so we know exactly who’s walking through the door and what they need from us that day.

What’s one thing your customers don’t know you do behind the scenes?

We obsess over their progress and are constantly tweaking programs so the next 30-minute workout is dialed in for their body, not just “a workout on the board.”

If there were an award for your daily routine, what would it be called?

The “Controlled Chaos Champion” award.

What’s something you’ve gotten better at every year?

Making busy people’s workouts shorter, smarter, and more effective… and saying “no” to anything, including trends, that don’t drive client results. We only do what works and we simplify over making it more complicated.

What’s one item you always have on hand?

A stash of high-quality beef jerky and electrolytes. When you coach early mornings and late evenings, protein and hydration are non-negotiable.

What’s something you do that seems small but makes a huge difference?

We learn people’s stories, not just their stats. Remembering that someone’s son just left for college or that they’re nervous about a doctor’s appointment changes how we coach them that day. Our members never feel like “member #243” in a crowded gym.

What was your “I made it” moment?

Hearing a client’s daughter point and say, “That’s my mom, she’s so strong”… and then winning this award on top of it.

Tell us about your favorite local spot.

Our favorite spot is the small coffee shop near our Jefferson Valley studio: Common Grounds Cafe. It became our go-to when we realized half our members refuel there post workout.

What northern Westchester business do you secretly (or not so secretly) love?

We’re big fans of Countryside Kitchen. They treat their customers the way we aim to treat ours: by knowing your name, your order, and making you feel like you belong there. Plus their carnivore platter is tops!

If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing instead?

We’d still be coaching in some form. Helping people get healthier in their homes, schools, or workplaces. Teaching and training people to see what they’re capable of is just in our DNA.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

“Build a life you don’t need a vacation from, and a business that actually helps people win.”

How do you celebrate a big win?

High fives all around, a team workout, a good steak… and back to work.

Describe your business in three words.

Efficient. Empowering. Addictive.

If your business had a theme song, what would it be?

“It Takes 2” by Rob Base.

What’s the funniest customer request you’ve ever received?

Someone once asked, “Can you lift the weights for me if I just stand here and cheer?” We told them, “If we ever crack that code, we’re all retiring.”

What’s your business’s unofficial motto?

“Strong in 30 minutes.”

What’s your dream customer reaction?

“I can’t believe that was only 30 minutes, and I actually feel strong, not destroyed. When do I come back?” That’s when we know we’ve done our job.

What’s something your business does differently than anyone else?

We deliver true strength training for busy adults in just 2-3 thirty-minute sessions a week, fully coached, no wandering around wondering what to do.

What’s the smallest detail your customers notice—or that you hope they notice?

That their weights are already set, their workout is planned, and we remember exactly where they left off last time.

What’s the one thing your business couldn’t function without?

Our coaching team—the energy, expertise and accountability they bring is the real “secret sauce.”

What’s one thing people often say when they first walk in?

“This feels nothing like a typical gym… in a good way.”

What’s the unsung hero of your business?

Our scheduling and follow up system—the reminders, check ins, and “we missed you” texts that keep people consistent.

What’s a word or phrase customers often use to describe your business—and do you agree?

“Boutique but no BS.” We agree: high touch, high standards, no fluff.

What is your most popular service?

Our 30-minute small group strength training membership, 2–3 times per week.

What is something you wish more people knew about you and/or your business?

That you don’t need to live in the gym to look and feel strong—and that PURE PHYSIQUE is a growing franchise built to bring this model to more communities.
