What is the first thing you do when you open for the day?

The first thing we take care of is making sure our three bunnies—Moo, Chuck and Chip—have everything they need. They get fresh water, food, bedding, and a clean-up every morning and evening. They are the stars of the store so they have to be good to go every day.

What’s one thing your customers don’t know you do behind the scenes?

We do lots of custom gifts—everything from amazing gift baskets for new babies and custom slime kits to party favors and books with fancy wrapping for extra-special presents. We’re always working on something special for a customer or two.

If there were an award for your daily routine, what would it be called?

The Controlled Chaos Prize. 🙂

What’s your dream customer reaction?

Telling us we made someone’s day a little bit brighter with a book or even a visit to the bunnies.

What’s the one thing your business couldn’t function without?

Our trusty shop-vac vacuum and packing tape. 🙂

What’s one thing people often say when they first walk in?

Either, “Wow, this store is so cute!” Or, “Wow, it smells really good in here!” (We often burn one of our popular Cheerful Giver scented candles, and we also share our space with a florist, Whispering Pines.)

What’s the unsung hero of your business?

Our staff group chat.

What is your most popular item/service?

Our children’s selection of books and toys, as well as our slime and in-store parties.

What is something you wish more people knew about you and/or your business?

You can buy e-books and audiobooks from us. You can shop e-books through our affiliate, Bookshop.org, using this special link. And you can support us by buying audio books through our affiliate, Libro.fm, with this special link.
