What is the first thing you do when you open for the day?
We get the store organized and ready for customers. The priority is making sure everything is in place so we can focus on following up with customers, processing orders, confirming availability, and making sure delivery timelines are communicated clearly and promptly.
What’s something you’ve gotten better at every year?
We’ve continually gotten better at sourcing materials and perfecting our craft. That includes selecting better products, refining design choices, and introducing new offerings that meet both quality and budget needs.
What’s something you do that seems small but makes a huge difference?
Giving back. I dedicate a significant amount of time and resources to charitable work. We sponsor and support organizations like St. Christopher’s, Graham Windham, Franciscan Friars, and rehabilitation programs, and we donate flooring and services whenever possible. Giving back is a responsibility, not an afterthought.
What was your “I made it” moment?
Opening my first store after nine years in the industry. It was a 2,000-square-foot location on Central Park Avenue. That moment felt like, “I did it.” I was confident from day one that if customers walked through the door, they would buy.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing instead?
Anything that involves helping people. A big reason I’ve been successful is because what we do helps people create comfortable, beautiful homes. If I weren’t in this business, I’d still want to be doing something that improves people’s lives.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
Don’t take yourself too seriously—and remember that you’re not that important. That perspective keeps you grounded and focused on what really matters.
Describe your business in three words.
Caring. Giving. Faith.
What’s your business’s unofficial motto?
Keep moving forward.
What’s something your business does differently than anyone else?
We are the only true one-stop shop in the tri-state area that can fully outfit the interior of a home. From flooring, tile, bathrooms, carpet, area rugs, wallpaper, and window treatments to furniture, lighting, and full design support—no other store does it at our scale or level of service.
What’s the one thing your business couldn’t function without?
The team. From sales and measurements to warehouse staff, installers, and management, every person plays a role. There are no heroes here—we succeed because everyone works together.
What’s one thing people often say when they first walk in?
“This place is beautiful.” And often, “I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place sooner.”
What is something you wish more people knew about your business?
That we genuinely care—about our customers and our employees. We held onto every employee during the recession, even when it meant taking on debt. We believe in loyalty, integrity, and standing by people in good times and bad. That spirit defines who we are.
