What is the first thing you do when you open for the day?
Countless hours of mowing, from the orchards, to the Christmas trees, and around the fields. Also trying out new ideas and recipes for tasty treats in the bakery.
What’s one thing your customers don’t know you do behind the scenes?
Only picking fruit when the taste is right, even if it is off from the recommended picking times for certain varieties. And always using apple cider in our donuts.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
It’s never failure, you either succeed or you learn.
When did you open (month & year)?
The farm has been in the family, and a working farm, since 1828. We opened the bakery in September 2008.
Describe your business in three words.
Family. Local. Involved.
What’s one thing people often say when they first walk in?
The farm, how beautiful the property is, the bakery. “It smells amazing in here.”
What is your most popular item or service?
Apple picking and our apple cider donuts.
What is something you wish more people knew about you and/or your business?
That we are very thankful for the busy days, however it’s the slower days when we have more time to talk to, and share a story with our guests that makes all the hard work worth it.
