1. Over half a century of art for a cause

Art Show: Bedford is turning 53 and still looking fabulous. This year, 45 artists, some old friends, and some exciting new faces will dazzle with a mix of media and prices to tempt every taste (and wallet). Kick off the fun at the preview party on Friday, January 23, with tasty bites from Happiness Is, drinks poured by the Men of St. Matthew’s and tunes from local favorites Mark Weigel & Friends. Plus, don’t miss Kendall Klingbeil’s painting of the iconic Bedford Oak (it could be yours). All in support of local charities. The exhibition continues January 24–25 and 30–February 1, plus a silent auction.

2. Keep up the tempo for a musical night

Even if you’re not a seasoned concert-goer, we’re sure you know how to keep up the tempo for a classical musical experience you won’t want to miss. Prepare for a night where strings shimmer, woodwinds dance and percussion keeps everyone on their toes. The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is scheduled for February 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the David F. Clune Auditorium. For even more magic, they will be accompanied by Ji Su Jung, the first solo percussionist recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, who will be playing Marimba.

3. “Tití Me Preguntó”—Who’s ready for the Super Bowl?

Pro Tip: There are three things you must do to have the best Super Bowl night ever—win or lose. Step One: Get a comfy sofa from the one and only Westchester House & Home. Step Two: Stay toasty throughout the game with a Wittus fireplace or fire-burning oven (bonus points if you use it to cook your meal). Step Three: Not a cook? No problem. Grab some delicious wings and fries from the iconic The Blazer. Follow our playbook, and the score won’t even matter. We promise.

3. Art so good we gave it a gallery

Paint. Photo. Design. You name it—these creatives nailed it. This fall, we invited high school artists to step into the spotlight with our art contest and give their work a chance to shine. We’ve selected the winners (they’ll be notified shortly), and their work will be on display at Chroma Fine Art Gallery during the week of  February 9. To celebrate their achievements and give art lovers a chance to experience the work up close, we invite you to join us for a reception on Friday, February 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chroma.

5. See it before you swing the hammer

Ever wish you could preview your remodel without relying on a very optimistic imagination? Southeast Kitchen’s new one-stop remodeling showroom has officially opened its doors, and it’s designed to make “before” and “after” feel a whole lot closer together. Their new Brewster showroom introduces a space where homeowners can walk through full kitchen and bath vignettes, compare finishes and fixtures side by side, and collaborate directly with on-site designers to bring ideas to life.
