The Details

We encourage all students who enjoy telling stories through film or animation to create a short film inspired by the 1939 classic “The Wizard of Oz.” We welcome all styles of film, but entries should be no longer than five minutes, and the language/subject matter must be family friendly. More importantly, be original, be creative and have fun!
Here are a few questions/examples to get you started (these are only ideas, not suggestions – please create your own):
Is there a specific scene, character, or song in The Wizard of Oz that is meaningful to you? Did you rewrite the words to Somewhere Over the Rainbow to represent your life? Have you always wished the Munchkins were talking chipmunks? Is your dog an actor in the making?
All entries must include the following:
1. A link to your short film with access granted to whoever has the link (there will be multiple judges)
2.  Your name and town where you live
3. Your grade in the fall and the school you will attend
4. A brief paragraph that summarizes your film and explains what inspired you
All winners will be notified by October 1.
