SUMMARY:Katonah Museum of Art: Art in Bloom Buzzworthy Container Gardens Presented by Wave Hill
DESCRIPTION:Buzzworthy Container Gardens Presented by Wave Hill\nIn this workshop, participants will create a living arrangement with a dynamic combination of native plants. You can attract pollinators and songbirds to your porch or patio with a selection of perennial plants that provide nourishment and support our local ecology.\nYou can choose up to five plants for your biodegradable container. We will have a selection of textures and colors to work with. Whether sun or shade, there is a native plant to fit your conditions. Bring home this medley of meadow natives to adorn a special spot and transplant them into your own garden next spring!\nJoin Cathy Deutsch, Director of Horticulture and Jess Brey, Ruth Rea Howell Horticultural Interpreter, from Wave Hill for this hands-on workshop.\nWave Hill is a non-profit, public garden and cultural center in Riverdale, NY overlooking the Hudson River and the Palisades. The gardens are world-renowned for their dynamic display of plant combinations and diverse collections throughout the garden.\nArt in Bloom is a juried exhibition featuring artists from the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association (KMAA) and celebrated local floral designers. The selected artworks serve as inspiration for a corresponding floral interpretation and collectively explore the symbiotic relationship between visual art and living ephemeral forms. The weekend of events includes lectures, workshops, and family programs celebrating the connections between art and nature. \nGet tickets\n
