SUMMARY:Jacob Burns: Q&A with director and producer Bob Clark of “Autistic Mode”
DESCRIPTION:\n\nQ&A with director and producer Bob Clark\n\n\n\nAutistic Mode contains stylized animated violence and sexual imagery and is intended for audiences 16+.Autistic Mode is an epic anthology of visionary works from five Autistic animators. Embracing the less-is-more approach of indie animatics, the shorts mix adventure, music, and slapstick, stitched together by Dreamcatchers, a feature-length sci-fi detective story from creator/producer, Bob Clark. Inspired by classic anime collections like Robot Carnival, and The Animatrix, Autistic Mode is a film expressing not just Autistic Pride, but Autistic Cool, and a standout work of Indie Animation. Accompanying Dreamcatchers are the short films Hardmode by Nix Busby, Honeyjack by Charles Moss, Tooned Up by Malcolm Thomas, and Canvas by Gabrielle Teaford. Featuring additional animation by Michael DeBennet and music by Chris la Vigna. This event is presented in partnership with the Museum of Moving Image’s Marvels of Media ( https://movingimage.org/about/marvels-of-media/ ) program. Marvels of Media is an ongoing initiative that showcases, celebrates, and supports autistic media-makers of all ages and skill sets through an annual festival, workshops and more. Throughout the year, autistic visitors are given guidance and instruction and taught how to express themselves creatively and tell their stories through audiovisual storytelling techniques related to puppetry for the screen, filmmaking, game design, and animation.\nAutistic Mode is made possible by ArtsWestchester’s Voices for Change program. Dreamcatchers was made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.\nGet tickets\n\n\n
